The square sections in the middle of the bridge fall away during the fight, however, the edges of the bridge and the solid metal around each column stay intact. It's a good idea to stand on the "solid" areas around these or the solid rails on the sides and fight him. He teleports players to and from him during the fight, so as you make your way back to him or try to move away be careful not to fall down the sections that have dissappeared in the middle of the bridge.
He apparently summons people standing to far away to underneath him, and teleports those near him away randomly.

The floor panels never return (for the life of the instance.)
