Talk: Broker

Both my new rewrite of the page and the old version of the page included more information on the Market System than on only Brokers in specific. Should the content be moved to a new category "Market"?

To me Broker not only refers to the NPCs, but also is a synonym for the market system. When looking for information on the market system, I would search for broker and would probably never find the article or category named market . So my suggestion is to keep the name Broker but maybe move the information to its own article called Broker since the category got so big. I'd have to agree. I think the term broker refers to both the NPC and the sales system as a whole. A redirect page from "market system" to "broker" would work famously for this.-- Kodia 12:37, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Something else that will have to happen to this good information is that it will need to be moved into an article of its own. The information that appears before the dynamically generated categorical content should be at the very very most a single page, preferably less. This information is too long for what should appear before a category. Our current practice is to move this kind of information to an article of the same general name. In this case, the article name would be "Broker," which current redirects to the category. The information on the page would replace the redirect, and a note would appear above that text stating "For a categorical listing of all broker-related articles, see Category:Broker " (and it would be italicized).-- Kodia 12:53, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Ok, cool. I just wanted to be sure. Your initial note asked "Should the content be moved to a new category "Market" and I wanted you to know that it should definitely *not* be a category. Also, no category redirects (don't redirect a category to another). It messes up our templates. :)-- Kodia 13:13, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
