EverQuest 2 Wiki:Policy/DNP

This page documents an official policy on the English EQ2i. It has wide acceptance among editors and is considered a standard that all users should follow. Please do not edit this page without first ensuring that your revision reflects consensus . When in doubt, discuss it first on the talk page .

This page in a nutshell: DNP stands for Do Not Post . Game exploits, unreleased content (especially from beta testing still under NDA), off-topic content, and defamatory content is specifically banned and will get you banned if you persist in posting it.

This is the Do Not Post policy . It describes specific items and topics we do not allow on EQ2i.

Exploits Edit

Posting of information or links to any kind of exploits (and other ways of breaking SOE's EULA ), will be deleted immediately and and will result in a permanent ban on your account. We suggest, therefore, that you not do it.

Unreleased content Edit

Pictures and text of unreleased content are not allowed. Note that any in-game screenshots obtained from the live or test servers and clients are okay. Screenshots from beta testing are only acceptable once NDA has been officially lifted and notice of such has been posted by an SOE Development staff member in the SOE community forums.

Off-topic content Edit

Do not post content that has no connection with EQ2 whatsoever. Off-topic content can be removed by any EQ2i contributor, and whole pages that are off-topic will be deleted. Persisting in posting such content may result in your account being banned.

Defamatory and discriminatory content Edit

Articles or talk pages that are nothing but personal defamation are illegal in many countries. Defamatory content can be deleted by any EQ2i contributor, and whole pages that are nothing but defamation are candidates for immediate deletion. Persisting in posting such content may result in your account being banned.

Note that common sense has to be applied to this policy. While isolated cases of "I think you are being a jerk right now, because ... " as a response in a talk page isn't exactly good wiki etiquette, it isn't defamation, either. A whole barrage of why a person has to be an idiot, is.

Please use the {{AdminNeeded|}} tag to indicate that the page is plain defamation and that that's why it's being deleted.

EQ2i is a wiki for everyone. We do not tolerate discrimination based upon social status, age, sex, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, etc. Period.

Excessive or repeated use of vulgar/abusive language also falls under this category and is unacceptable. Civility is one of the pillars of wiki editing and all users are expected to edit in a respectful manner.

Threats of any kind Edit

Do not post threats of any kind, even in jest. Persisting in posting such content may result in your account being banned.
