I am starting this page in the hopes that we can begin defining some standard approaches for handling certain things here. This is NOT intended to be about grammar and punctuation, but more specific to our work. In time, and with consensus, I want this page regarded as EQ2i Policy.

Article Naming Edit

See Help: Naming

Quests Edit

See Template:QuestInformation

Quest Items Edit

If an item used during a quest is not used for any other purpose, is used only for that single quest, and is not equipable, no ItemInformation page should be made for it. Instead, any notes about the item or it's use should be included in the text of the concerned quest article. If the item is frequently referred to or is of significant interest, a redirect page should be made for the item name, pointing to the quest page it appears on.

A good example of this is the dwarven ringmail plans used during the HQ In Honor and Service . When it first appears in the text it should be bold and italicized , and a definition of the item should follow in (parentheses). If possible, an image of the item should be included, floated to the right. Any succeeding references to the item should be italicized but not bold.

  1. Examine the dwarven ringmail plans (inventory item, NO-TRADE NO-VALUE, appears as a large blue book) and find the nine copies that have been distributed among the various orcish military personnel for safe keeping:

Collection Quests Edit

See Template:CQuestInformation

Collectibles (items harvested from collection nodes) should not have an ItemInformation page. It is acceptable to create redirect pages pointing to the Collection Quest article. The names of the items should appear in the members field of the CQuestInformation template call in bold and italics .

Lore and Legend Quests Edit

See Template:LnLInformation

Lore and Legend items (items looted from corpses of the monster type involved in the quest) should not have an ItemInformation page. It is acceptable to create redirect pages pointing to the Lore and Legend Quest article. The names of the items should appear in the drops field of the CQuestInformation template call without any font style. The template will display autos and drops as both bold and italics .
