Gods, it feels like only yesterday (instead of well over 2 years ago) we were contemplating how long it'd take us to get to 50k... and now here we are! Quite an amazing feat, maybe we should make some kind of special "50k articles" anniversary userbox after all. In any case, three cheers for EQ2i indeed! We've had folks come and go over the long years (man, I remember way back when it was just this little wiki hosted on Ewil's machine), but EQ2i remains unparalleled -- something that is truly amazing for a fansite that has zero paid staff. -- lordebon 04:46, April 27, 2010 (UTC)

I concur wholeheartedly, how amazing it is to see this milestone come... And as much as I'd love a userbox relating to the 50K milestone, what would be the parameters to decide who could use it? Greater than X edits? On the wiki for longer than Y days? Or would it be a userbox available to all who would use it? LOL, speaking of which, I recall a very special userbox likely awarded back on the days when Ewil hosted from his own machine...-- Mysterious drake 05:29, April 27, 2010 (UTC)

The issue with one like that is what Kodia points out: it may not be easy to figure out which article was #50,000. As for just a general one, I think it'd be sort of an 'on your honor' kind of thing, anyone that contributed prior to that day would be welcome to have it, even with only one edit. -- lordebon 13:38, April 27, 2010 (UTC)

You are all right. It's really quite special and I'll be putting up a news item about it. I wish today it was easier for us to track which edit was exactly the one. There's a little more wonk involved than when Ewil first started the wiki and we were being personally hosted on his servers. Let me see what I can do. Why don't you see who had the most edits between 40k and 50k? Can that be done? If you know the date when you hit 40k, you could count the edits after that date? AndonSage 21:00, April 29, 2010 (UTC)
