Adding a page for something that already exists

Hi all,

I want to add a wiki page for the level 74 Berserker spell Trample. The problem is, there is already a page named this, I believe for a Paladin AA line. How can I add the page without affecting the other page's content?

Thanks! Segfault 04:34, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

When names conflict on something in game, we typically create "disambiguation" pages to tell people how their different. A disambiguation page would be created for the page "Trample" and two links would come off of it, one for the crusader spell and one for berserker spell (the links would point to Trample (Berserker) and Trample (Crusader)).
So, to add a page for something that already exists, this is how I would go about it.
 1. Find Trample and then click on the "What links here?" link.
 2. Go to all the pages that link to Trample and change those links to Trample (Berserker) and Trample (Crusader) as appropriate.
 3. Go back to the original Trample article and replace all the text with disambig Trample refers to two spells: and then create the links to the Trample (Berserker) and Trample (Crusader) as bulletted items.
 4. Go to the Berserker spell that needs creating and create it.

Keep in mind that my method is the *hard* way. Creating the disambiguation page with the new "Spellname (Class)" link is also acceptable, without going to change the links. This shorter method makes sense if it's a page that has a LOT of links. Most people don't want to change them by hand. Internal links to Trample will still work. They'll just go to the disambiguation page. With hope, someone will see that and then change the link to a real one.-- Kodia 04:58, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
