Challenge Mode encounters

Since SOE seems to have pretty thoroughly established normal/challenge mode as the standard fare for raids, it occurs to me that perhaps we should handle challenge-mode encounters a little differently than as normal separate encounters. Having to make an (Epic) and (Challenge Mode Epic) version of each named page is not only somewhat awkward (because it makes the base name page a disambig). What I'm thinking of is making a single page at the normal name and then using the tabber functionality to create separate infoboxes for normal-mode and challenge-mode encounters. I'll try to work on a mockup in a bit, but does that sound like it would be better, or should we just work on the naming conventions instead? -- lordebon 18:19, July 26, 2011 (UTC)

Sounds like a good idea to me. Question, though - would the tab thing work for displaying separate loot tables? McJeff (talk this way) / (stalk this way) 17:15, July 27, 2011 (UTC)
As promised, a rudamentary mockup: here . If you don't see the strategy header inside them, check back later (it takes a bit of time for site CSS changes to propegate). -- lordebon 20:18, July 27, 2011 (UTC)
Is it possible to replace all disambiguation pages with this format? It seems rather odd to only use that formatting for certain disambiguation and not all of them. If not, how will disambiguation be dealt with that have an ecology version, instanced version, and normal/challenge instanced versions, etc? (E.g. Tert Turganpuncher ) -- Smackban 07:39, July 28, 2011 (UTC)
What if use the tabber as bonus for the disambig pages?
The articles would still be disambig pages with links to the nameds but show the tabber below for the nameds like Lordebon's test shows

That could work, all you do to make that work is transclude the article page. In response to Smackban, it might be a good upgrade to disambig pages in general, that way instead of just having a short text descriptor we have the links followed by the tabber. -- lordebon 22:08, July 28, 2011 (UTC)

I made an template for it so we have it a little bit easier.
The Template:NormalChallengeTabber‎‎ shows the 2 nameds as link and the tabber with the normal and the Challenge mode mobs. Legatus Prime Mikill uses the template atm.

If an named has just the normal and the Challenge one you only need the following lines:
{{disambig}}
{{NormalChallengeTabber}}

If an named has a npc, the normal and the Challenge one you only need the following lines:
{{disambig}}
*[[Pagename (Npc)]]
{{NormalChallengeTabber}}
