Would it be possible to turn off the auto-fetch of the Lootdb images until their database is updated? I understood the collaboration with that website was to make it so that this wiki did not need its own image of every single item in the game. When the auto-image is out-of-date, however, the only way to hide it and still have a useful grabby itemlink is to upload an image to the wiki. Turning off the auto-image would allows the wiki articles to retain their accuracy AND usefulness without yet another image being loaded. Janze-Nek Coms Cons 16:26, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
- we're looking into it. I'm at work right now, so i dont have the time to fiddle with those templates, i'll look into a little later. this issue was brought up before, so some discussion about it has already taken place so this wont be long. -- Uberfuzzy 18:38, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
- ok, gonna start working on this. i also talked to the admin over at lootdb, he wants me to remind you that (on his site) there is a link below each image to report that the image is wrong/inaccurate. right now, sadly, it is a email link. He's going to work on a better way for users to flag images to be relooked at faster. the largest problem for his (and our end) is that soe replaced the stats inplace without changing the itemlink, so while he has the updated data. he (well, his system) doesnt know which is the right one to use for the image (something else thats being worked on), so if you send an mail in (or later flag it), he knows to take a look at that one for updated data. -- Uberfuzzy 05:44, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
If, eventually, he develops a flag on the order of a check box that will tell him to come here to find updated information, I would use that. I do not have the time to email/update Lootdb plus update here, however, and I prefer to edit here. Janze-Nek Coms Cons 06:22, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
