I would like to be able to see the missions not only from Category:Mission Quests , but also sorted by zone where these happen. Something like Category:Befallen: Halls of the Forsaken Quests , where the mission End of the Forsaken is not appearing.
I guess the quest template for these would have to be changed to allow this extra type of information and a category display of the missions by zone or someone who enter the ~100 missions manually to the zone's page? Or maybe something completely different? -- Alinor 18:48, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
- Always good if one can answer his own question :-) I'll add some category tags to the missions, so they at least show up in the zone's quest overview. -- Alinor 18:59, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, nevertheless still a question: I still would like to see the missions marked as "mission" under the zone's quest (or missions sorted by zone in one page). Can I make this expandable under the normal zone page? Like the plus sign at http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Tailor_Recipe_Books for the tailor adornment books (no idea why these are empty btw)? Or should I add just another category beside ... Quests, heroic Quests, AA Quests?-- Alinor 19:24, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, its "empty" because that little "+" only expands to show subcategories, not pages, since there are no categories bellow adornment books... nothing to show with the plus -- Uberfuzzy 22:42, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
Ok, Can someone explain to me what Missions are? (yes, i'm a TSO newbie) And how they are different then normal quests? More specifically, what do they require that is different then how we do quests now? I'm more then willing to make the changes to make it easier to find information, just dont know what is going on. -- Uberfuzzy 22:41, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
- It's like a writs except you don't get guild or personal status. You can only do one a day or one a week depending on the kind you get. Some are group missions that require more than one person or more than one skill set from a trade skills. The starting zone and the zone they occur in aren't always the same and unless you sort your quests by current zone, you'll usually see them under the Mission category (at the wiki we assume the default sorting of By Category in the quest journal). Does that help?-- Kodia 22:55, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

- I think I have found out how it is supposed to work :-)
- The missions reward is normally one or two Void Shard , which can be used to buy armor and stuff like Aramid Voidcaller (Armor Set) . There is also some info at Void Shard Mission System .

The quest giver is normally outside of the dungeon and gives quests which happen to be inside the dungeon. The default quest template categorizes those quests automatically into e.g.
Category:Lavastorm Heroic Quests
due to the starting zone tag, although quests like
Liquid Hot Mag-ma
should be better categorized in
Category:Deep Forge Quests
or
Category:Deep Forge Heroic Quests
. To make these visible into the zones quest overview I have tagged them with
Category:Deep Forge Mission Quests
and made that a subcategory of the
Category:Deep Forge Quests
. I think that's the easiest way without the need to change the template or something other weird things, it is only about ~90 quests.--

Perhaps the simplest option would be to add a
missiongroup
parameter to the template. That's how SOE groups them in game, by "Mission Groups". For example, Guk: Halls of the Fallen missions are called "Upper Guk Mission Group" if my memory serves me. The mission group dictates which quests you can only have one of at any given time. With this, it's important to note that the "daily doubles" are a separate, special group and *not* in the regular daily groups. -- lordebon 22:45, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
