If you kill one of his adds, it will set of a massive disease AoE, so just burn him down fast. It seemed like if you did not burn him fast enough, the adds died anyway causing death from the disease AoE. There is a disease DoT that comes up every so often, but it is not a big issue.
The encounter has a very small leash range, so it is best to fight him where he stands.
Note: This boss is currently glitched and will use his AoE when he goes below 20%
