What does this information mean?

This is a limited repeatable quest which can be repeated 50 times
You need to be able to speak gnomish for Mad Mattie to talk to you. You need to do this quest at least 5 (five) times to get the next quest.

Steps Edit

Mattie, the gnome responsible for setting up the fireworks displays for Tinkerfest, has a small problem with malfunctioning clockworks loaded with fireworks which are self-replicating themselves and threatening to overrun Steamfont. I have offered to help destroy some of them.

1. Disable 10 Erratic Tinkerfest Clockworks before they cause harm!
   • Use the Remote Detonator that Mattie gave you on nearby Erratic Tinkerfest Clockworks .
   • Note: you receive a fresh detonator each time, which has a decent range, and the clockworks respawn quickly (if there are multiple players "hunting" them at once).
2. Return and let Mattie know you safely detonated some clockworks.

Rewards Edit

• Shiny Tinkerfest Cog - rewarded upon every completion of the quest
• On the 5th completion of this quest, you receive one of the following:
  • Ruthenium Clockwork Drape (new for 2011)
  • Carbonite Clockwork Drape (new for 2011)
  • Cloak of Clockwork Dreams
• On the 25th completion of this quest, you receive:
  • Title: the Explosive

Note: after the 25th completion your character declares that they have done their share but the quest can be repeated a further 25 times (not all in one year).

• On the 35th completion of this quest, you receive one of the following:
  • Carbonite Cloak of the Great Gear (new for 2012)
  • Ruthenium Cloak of the Great Gear (new for 2012)
• On the 40th completion of this quest, you receive one of the following:
  • Grand Tinkerer's Mask (new for 2013)
  • 5 Shiny Tinkerfest Cogs
• On the 50th completion of this quest, you are able to buy from Myron:
  • Title: Watchman

Thoughtful Tips for Top-Notch Tinkerfest Times! Edit

• Make a macro for targeting and detonating the erratic tinkerfest clockworks. You merely have to be near one, press the button, and BOOM!
  1. Press O to open the Macros window.
  2. Find a blank macro slot and click on
  3. Add a Command Step: /target_nearest_npc
  4. Add a Use Item step, then drag the Remote Detonator to it.
  5. Give your macro a title.
  6. Click OK
  7. Drag the new macro to a hotbar for easy access.
