Consistent naming makes sure we don't get duplicate articles with varying names. The general rule at EQ2i is to match the article name to exactly what appears in game. For official rules about naming articles, see the naming policy .
Language
Edit
EQ2i is an English-language project and English is the preferred language here. However, if you use a different language server (e.g., Deutsch, Francais, Japanese) please try to translate page names into English. If you are unsure of what the name might be in English, feel free to create the page using your native language but be sure to add the tag {{Admin needed|language help, please!}} and an Admin will try to find the English name and move the page for you.
Use of Parentheses
Edit
Parentheses should ONLY be used when two or more articles would have the same name without them. Using the parentheses in this situation is called "disambiguation." An excellent example in Everquest 2 is Zha Gu'Lau . This NPC appears in many locations throughout the game and each one looks very different. For example, Zha Gu'Lau (Thundering Steppes) appears as a human male, while Zha Gu'Lau (Butcherblock Mountains) appears as a green-armored dwarf. Without the use of the parenthetical definitions, the pages would be hopelessly jumbled. And without the disambiguation, players would have no idea how to distinguish between each version of this NPC. The page at Zha Gu'Lau clearly indicates the difference between the variations of the NPC listed.
