  1. Should every article for items bought during Moonlight Enchantments be tagged ME?
  2. Should every appearance/placed image for those items be tagged ME?
  3. Should every appearance/placed image be tagged for its subtype (regardless of when or where it can be obtained)?

An example of my question:

I upload a lot of images. I will happily add tags IF that is what is suppose to be done, yet I am unsure if ME and/or subtype is de rigueur or a recent and untried innovation. Janze-Nek 12:17, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

My personal opinion is as follows:
  • Articles should be tagged ME, since they are from there and we have typically done that in the past for other holiday-type events.
  • I would not put all the images into that category. There's too many for it to be useful in my opinion, but if others opinion is the opposite then don't consider mine so much 'against' the idea as just not seeing it as necessary.
  • Placed images for subtype would be nice to build an automatic 'gallery' of house item subtypes, but it's not something we have rigorously done before.
In general, I think it's something we have definately not been consistent on. The sub-types are an idea I think I've seen tossed around a few places but never actually implemented... I forget where it was, but I know Kodia and I were talking about it. Something along the lines of how to have galleries sort of like Everseek (ie by item type), but I don't think any final decision was reached there. -- lordebon 13:06, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
The big reason I tagged the visible cattails image with an ME tag is because I was trying to do some decorating. I wanted to see the visible images to see if I wanted to purchase something. So in my opinion, visible images should definitely be tagged with ME. The examine images aren't very useful to me in that regard because there's no real advantage to having the examine windows all on one page for an "at a glance" view of them. For placed items, however, there's a huge advantage to seeing them all on one page.-- Kodia 13:31, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

OK, so I should add ME to (Visible) images and articles.... I just found Category:Moonlight Enchantments House Items which Kodia added to blue frog plushie . I think I should add the ME tag to the article and NOT to the article image:

  1. ME and subtype tags should be added to the article
  2. ME and subtype tags tag should be added to the (Visible) image
  3. Tags tag should NOT be added to the article's image ( Cattails.jpg if it existed)
  4. subtype tag (i.e., Category:Plant (Item Subtype) or Category:Bed (Item Subtype) should be added wherever it fits (plants have a subtype, rocks do not)

Does all of the above sound correct? Janze-Nek 13:49, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

I'd actually prefer the visible (placed) images for the house items kept in one category rather than loading everything into the base ME category. My personal view on things is that main categories (e.g. the ME category) should not be used for images, images belong in categories of their own, especially if they're to act like a 'gallery'. That's just my 2cp on things. -- lordebon 17:14, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
