This dark and mysterious palace has quite the history. The lore of Queen Cristanos leaves many questions unanswered. Is Queen Cristanos really a deity? What’s Talvus Thex next plan? Are they in any way connected with Tayil N’Velex?

No matter what questions you're pondering, no one can deny the beauty of the Darklight Palace. Head into Norrath and get your own version, decorate it as you wish, and send us screenshots of your creations!

Greetings Norrathians!

It’s been an exciting year so far for EverQuest II and we have a lot more to come!

Since All Access membership was announced earlier this year, as well as news on our new weekly update direction, we’re having a great time bringing more to the game each week. There’s a lot coming up too and we wanted to take a breath and tell you all about it!

As many of you know, our All Access membership changes will go live on or around April 23, 2014. Players who choose All Access membership will get access to SOE games, can claim 500SC a month, and get access to special promotions and offers. Members will also get unique benefits in EverQuest II.

In EverQuest II, All Access membership will get you the following benefits:

7 character slots
Member Benefits buff: Additional 15% coin loot and 10% mount speed
Double all the alternate currencies you earn in game, like Etyma and Loyalty tokens
Member-only Loyalty items
All access to broker, in-game mail, chat, and spell tiers
Early access to content and promotions.

For example, the first “early access to content” for All Access members will be the contested version of the High Keep dungeon with an entirely unique story, characters, and loot. This new zone will go live with the All Access membership launch and be exclusively available to members for two weeks. The dungeon also includes a new Heritage Quest for the Bloody Shank that All Access members have exclusive access to for the same two weeks.

Very soon we will find a permanent home online to list what is coming up on our schedule. Meanwhile, here’s a look at what’s on deck for the weeks following April 23, 2014:

New Temple of Veeshan raid zone
Convert old alternate currencies like Void Shards or Obols into current tinkering and transmuting components

EverQuest II Player Spotlight Gracee

Whether you’re into questing, crafting, or collecting, there are lots of ways to enjoy your time in Norrath. Gracee, has been selected for this’s month’s the recipient of this month’s Player Spotlight, is a decorator in EverQuest II. She’s most proud of the home for a special Shadowknight: her husband, Akojo:

Q: What is the name of your home or in-game creation? Akojo’s Freeport Apartment (by Gracee) – now on the Hall of Fame on Crushbone server.

Q: What was your inspiration or theme as you designed your home? This home was inspired by my husband Akojo. He had seen me do so many houses/halls and quietly sat back and never asked me to decorate one for him. I suggested it – he jumped on it, and asked me to do his Shadowknight’s house in Freeport. He asked for a nice relaxing place that he could go at the end of a hard day’s battle, and find comfort. His one request was a torture room that he could continue his studies of the living (and the dead), which I found creepy to make. This is the one and probably only torture room I’ll ever attempt and was so creeped out at the outcome – I don’t even visit that room. He also requested an aquarium, so I made that my first project in the house and let the colors dictate the rest of that room.

Q: What is your favorite item that you have on display in your home? What makes it special to you? The one item I’m the most proud of is his toilet. I know – what a dumb thing to get excited over, but I was able to actually make the seat “left up” as most men do. It still makes me giggle to see it, and marks it as a definite male’s house. I also love the pergola in the outdoor area which was very fun to make.

Q: What server do you play on? In your opinion, what makes your server special? I play on the Crushbone server as Gracee. Crushbone is my home and I love this server. The people are so friendly and help when you need it. For example, my alchemist was hunting several level 60’s advanced books. The crafting channel on this server went above and beyond to find those silly books for me. And I’m talking about logging into all their chars to see if they had it.

Decorating is my game. I believe it’s not the server you are on – but the decorating community that makes the difference. The great people in Homeshow channel are the best. /join Antonia_Bayle.Homeshow to be in the channel with some of the best and most helpful decorators in the game. I spent a couple years teaching people to use the layout editor on the test server, or actually made trips to most servers to teach those who couldn’t get to the test server. Jesdyr worked tirelessly to make the layout editor better and better for teaching. I think I taught over 300 people total to use this great tool, and to find it was easier than they anticipated. But, with the learning came an obligation to teach others – which spread the use of the layout editor like wildfire over all servers.

Gracee sums up her experiences in EQII beautifully: “That is my goal in game: to promote decorating for anyone who enjoys it, sharing ideas, and make it easier to do the things we all want to do. I love each and every decorator for their passion, and their results are amazing.”

Indulge Your Dark Side at the Festival of the Blood Moon

The Blood Moon is the High Holy Day of the Teir`dal and occurs once every twenty-seven months, according to lore. Every Teir`dal follower of Hate must murder a good being to honor their faith. The nobles choose a commoner to mate with and then sacrifice.

Vendela G`Kal, a high priestess of Innoruuk, attended the Festival of the Moon of Blood in the Neriak commons. As the festival progressed, she noticed an exceptionally fine looking common male in the throng. The high priestess bade him be her sacrifice to Innoruuk. She led him to her inner sanctum, and fulfilled the first part of her duty. Exhausted, she fell into a deep sleep. When she awoke, the dark elf was gone. The following year, she gave birth.

The child borne from this chance encounter showed remarkable abilities beyond that which any ordinary Teir`Dal had ever possessed. Many saw this, and took note. As she grew, many tried to end her life, fearing her for her power and abilities. On the first such attempt, an ancient shadowknight named Laarthik K`Shin saw the three would-be assassins and slew them as they made their attempt upon the Child of Innoruuk. After the battle, Innoruuk appeared before the shadowknight and conscripted him into service. He assigned the shadowknight to teach and protect the child and gave him a new, younger, body to enable him to do so. Under the shadowknight's tutelage, the child grew strong in both the art of combat and the dark magics of necromancy. She stood ready to spread hate across all of Norrath.

This is how Lanys T'Vyl came to be.

Jesters, thieves, bards, and hijinks fans alike can enjoy the festivities surrounding Bristlebane Day until April 10th, 2014 at 11:59PM PDT with a special one-day event on April 1st, 2014, the Highest of Silly Days!

In every home city, one can find convivial affairs and odd gadgets, so check out Antonica, The Commonlands, Darklight Wood, Timorous Deep, Greater Faydark and Frostfang Sea. Also, keep your ears keen to special music, and keep your eyes peeled for special events, especially in the Enchanted Lands, occurring only on the Highest of Silly Days!

Bristlebane’s “Godstorming” for a solution to his flying problem, notably that he can’t, is gaining a hairy foothold. His last known creation, the ground-grazing Bovochs, have been disappearing from the King of Thieves’ stable. The mystery of the missing creatures, held in high esteem amongst the prankster’s pets, have left rangers everywhere stumped. Bristlebane is mournful for his loss, particularly for Stumpelle, his bow-bearing beloved berry-fed Bovoch, but continues to pursue his aerial efforts.

It’s Brewday once again in Norrath, and there’s nothing like the Dwarven celebration of Brell and beer to bring your spirits up! Adventurers across Norrath are invited to sample exotic brews, complete festive quests, and visit the mysterious Bar of Brell.

New for 2014:

Beer Tokens: Better than real money (because beer!), this special currency is a new quest reward option and can be used to purchase event-exclusive items.

Brewday Recipes: Take a break from drinking to craft some brand new Brewday items! Balin Copperfoot in the Bar of Brell has copies of “Brewday Accouterments to Craft V,” as well as previous editions.

New Quests: There’s some strange noises coming from below the Bar of Brell, and it’s not the band, the brawlers, or the boasting patrons. Speak with the bartender to learn more!

Brewday Bounty: Visit merchant Balin Copperfoot in the Bar of Brell for seven new Brewday items.

Returning Favorites:

Bar of Brell: The Duke of Below has created a magical bar for the denizens of Norrath, so stop in for a pint or three! You’ll find the entrances in Antonica, The Commonlands, Greater Faydark, Haven, Timorous Deep, and Frostfang Sea.

Butcherblock Beer Garden: Otengrad Brauer has set up a beach beer garden just East of the Butchblock Docks, but the festivities have drawn swarms of thirsty goblins! Hop on a magic Brewday carpet to clear ‘em out and earn some great prizes.

It's Wikia Wednesday, Norrathians! Where we blog about things...For reasons! So I'll get this started.

Luperza and Firiona Vie model at the 2014 EverQuest Next Landmark Community Celebration Event

This last week and a half has been quite an emotional roller coaster for me. My new title as EverQuest 2 Community Manager, drops me into Norrath, a place I have so many memories of and has me "leaving" Auraxis. "Leaving" because I am not truly leaving. I am just no longer the Community Manager. I'll still be playing PlanetSide 2 to get my FPS fix and I'll be involved in lots of things like Friday Night Ops and Community Clash. I never realized how hard it would be to find the words to say goodbye and hello to a community. If you want to check out my hello and goodbye posts, they'll go over everything a bit more in depth.

So...Here I am! The New Community Manager of EverQuest 2. What does that mean? For me, it means, I am here to help grow and direct our player base into a conglomeration of what EverQuest 2 is all about! This includes EVERYONE - solo-ers, multi-boxers, dungeon groups, questers, crafters, interior decorators, trades brokers, raiders, PvPers and so on and so forth! I often see MMO communities get split up into tiny groups, but what a lot of people don't realize is that together...Together we are WAY more powerful. United, we make the game. Honestly, we do. Without us, the players, these games wouldn't exist.

Beyond that, I want to do so much more! With a game like EverQuest 2, we have potential to create some really amazing stories together for all kinds of aspects of the game.

This is where I want your help! I usually end every blog with a question, but today, I have many questions! I'll be setting up a new livestream series, similar to Friday Night Ops if you've ever checked that out.

What kind of content would you like to see?
What day would be best for you to view the livestream/partake in it - Keep in mind it must be between Monday and Friday?
How often would you like to see these streams? Weekly, biweekly, monthly?
And last, but not least, what should we name the livestream!? :D
