If a player's name is listed above their avatar's head in light purple instead of light green when you target them, they are "flagged" for roleplay. This flag can be turned off and on by pressing C to open the Character gear and information window, clicking on the Options tab, and checking the Roleplay box, under the Character Flags heading.
