What does
undo
do?
Edit
If you compare 2 versions of a article you get the option to undo the change you are viewing atm.
What does rollback do?
Edit
rollback is quicker way of undo for spamm and vandalism attack in general.
It doesn't have a confirm buttom.
If rollback is used you will undo all changes made by the current last editor to the last version a other editor that was logged in.
Because of that make sure you check the history of a page if you are unsure before you do a rollback.
MediaWiki Administrator's Handbook/Rollback
What can be a problem by useing it?
Edit
For example a page got the following changes
- today 12:00 user A - rollback button
- today 11:00 user A
- week ago 10:00 user A
- month ago 09:00 user B <- you will roll back to this version
- month+1hour ago 08:00 user B
- month+2hour ago 07:00 user C - created page
- The problem : if you go by recent changes you see only the edit from 12:00 and 11:00 but not the maybe last correct edit from 10:00 from last week.
So i shouldn't use rollback?
Edit
Use it, but use it wisely!
Think twice, klick once!
Open at least history before you do a roll back and make a cross check after if you feel unsure.
