Spawning Rotweed

Step onto the island in the middle of Teardrop Cave and three Rotweed Thistles appear, linked.
If you remain on the island and kill them, Rotweed may spawn immediately if you are lower than level 16. If you're level 16 or higher Rotweed may not spawn.
Instead, it is recommended that after stepping on to the island (regardless of your level, and especially if you are completing the quest grayed out) that you back up to the cave mouth once again, and kill the Rotweed Thistles one at a time. Standing back with the third and final Thistle defeated should spawn Rotweed on the island. This technique was confirmed 2 January 2009 using an 80 Bruiser .

If you are completing the quest for Rotweed , Destroy the Corruption , while the mobs are gray and you do not spawn the named after defeating the Thistles, you should delete the quest and return to Empress Anassa , who will re-issue you the quest. You can then repeat the above technique to respawn the named.
