To spawn this named, you must clear the rest of the zone including killing Arcanus .

You cannot place yourself behind him, and the Shade has an AoE that does more damage the further you are from him. So stay close.
He also has a knockback which snares, but this can be avoided with stun/stifle effects. If you are hit with the knockback, take care not to click the zone-out while moving back to him.
