EverQuest 2 Wiki:Policy/Signatures

This page documents an official policy on the English EQ2i. It has wide acceptance among editors and is considered a standard that all users should follow. Please do not edit this page without first ensuring that your revision reflects consensus . When in doubt, discuss it first on the talk page .

This page in a nutshell: Customized signatures are allowed at EQ2i only if they take up minimal space, do not place an undue burden on the server, and are absolutely no taller than one line of text.

This is the signatures policy . It describes when customized signatures are appropriate and when they are not.

When to add your signature Edit

When editing talk pages and forum posts, you should sign your edits so the author of a particular comment can be quickly identified. To sign your edit just put ~~~~ after your post. When the page is saved EQ2i will convert the ~~~~ to your username and the time and date you posted.

You should not sign your edits on articles as article content represents the contributions of many users (see the credit guidelines for more information).

Customizing your signature Edit

If you want you can customize your signature by editing your preferences, keeping the following rules in mind:

• Your customized signature cannot place a burden on the server. If it does, you will be asked to modify it or remove it.
• Your customized signature cannot be taller than one line of text if you use an image.

Visit Special:Preferences , and on the "User Profile" tab enter your custom signature in the "Signature" field. Make sure to check "Raw Signatures." Below is an example of a custom signature:
