Faction

Use this template when reporting a Faction reward or penalty in your article.

Parameters (new Format)

This template uses numerical parameters, thus simplifying the call.

Name of the Faction as it appears on your Profile window, under the Factions tab, including preceeding insignificant words .
(Optional) Amount of faction, or one of the words good or bad . Defaults to +100 . If the amount is zero (0) good/bad is skipped and the message "causes no change to" is used instead. This is so that you can mark a mob that belongs to a faction, but does not affect that faction (most Named Monsters fall into this category). NOTE: 99% of all 'normal' mobs that affect faction increase or decrease it by 100 per kill.
(Optional) Source of faction, either one of the words Quest or Monster . Defaults to Quest .
- This is used to create the Category link to [[Category:Faction Quests]] or [[Category:Faction Monsters]]

Template:Faction creates links to 2 of 3 categories for each faction: the first category is FactionName (Faction) . The other will be either FactionName (Good Faction) or FactionName (Bad Faction) , depending on the 3rd parameter. All this makes it easier to find articles that affect the faction only one way.

1: FactionName: Name of the Faction, A overview of the factions can be found at Factions category
2: Amount: +xx, -xx, good or bad. (Good and bad can be used if the exact amount of faction you gain or loose is unknown); For monsters it's normally -100 for bad faction and +50 for good faction
3: Source: Can either be Monster or Quest

Change log

2010-01-17: Chillispike added Category:Invalid Faction call for the old format use.
2009-11-09: Kodia moved all old examples to second position and new formatting examples to primary positions to encourage heavier use of new vs. old.
2009-11-08: Chillispike adding new format to the template. atm it's possible to use Old and New format. Once all current pages got changed the old format will get removed.
