Vendor Trash

Vendor trash are items, usually dropped on monster corpses, that serve no gameplay purpose other than being sold to a vendor for some amount of coin. The value of a piece of vendor trash depends on the level of the monster, with higher level monsters dropping generally more valuable trash loot. Within a given tier some vendor trash drops may be rarer and more valuable than others. The name of vendor trash items is often themed or otherwise related to the monster that drops it in some way, such as animated tomes dropping a vendor trash book when killed.
