Create New Article
How can I get the template buttons (e.g. Quest or NPC) to show when I click on 'Create New Article', like I get when I click on a red link? The buttons aren't there for 'Create New Article' even though it says "If you are starting a new page and need a template, click on one of the template preload buttons, below." at the top. There aren't any template preload buttons. Thanks :) AndonSage 17:04, March 3, 2010 (UTC)

i just checked and the buttons seem to work for me. only small glitch is that when i click on "more templates..." the new set doesnt replace the current one like it does usually, but it gets added below -- Vraeth 09:27, August 19, 2010 (UTC)

- fixed
- The Create New Article uses tabs now, the more templates are now in the second tab. The Player/char look doesn't use the tab since it's not needed.
- MediaWiki:Newarticletext updated, MediaWiki:Newarticletext/more no longer needed and we maybe could delete it.

Need additional parameter for SpellInformation2 template
As of GU57, Priests have a new spell call Wrath . This spell has no version, and never upgrades. However, it does have a Resistibility 12% Harder . The normal Resistibility is based on the version, so goes in the SpellLine information area, but since this spell doesn't have any versions, we need to have Resistibility in the header part. I called it Resist and put it in the Wrath spell, so let me know if you call it something else. I uploaded a screenshot of the spell so you can see how it looks, it shows in the Wrath spell entry. AndonSage 12:59, August 21, 2010 (UTC)

Did you had any armor on that changed the resistibility of your spells? --

- Not that I'm aware of, but I will check again and get back to you. AndonSage 10:51, August 22, 2010 (UTC)
Sorry for the delay, I forgot about this :( Anyway, just checked my Fury without any armor, buffs or AAs, and the spell shows Resistibility 12% Harder . AndonSage 02:31, September 15, 2010 (UTC)
- Done. The parameter will only show up with both resist=something and noupgrade=something in order to prevent it being used on spells with multiple qualities (where it'd be incorrect). -- lordebon 03:41, September 15, 2010 (UTC)

I changed the use of it in the template, when a spell used noupgrade but not resist some wiki table chars showed up, the side effect now is when a article uses resist bot not noupgrade is used the wiki table chars show up. --

- Found the root cause and fixed it. Because of the way nested if's work and the way the conditional table anti-bugging linebreak works, it needs to be if(a){if(b){1x|void}|void}. That first void from the outer if statement was missing (first time I've ever done nested if's in a conditional table row), that's why it was looking right when the inner parameter (noupgrade after your change) was only passed but messed up when only the outer parameter (resist) was passed. Conditionals in wikitables drive me up a wall, MW does them horribly unless you do exactly the right thing including newlines >_<. -- lordebon 03:54, October 5, 2010 (UTC)

Equipment name question
So, there's a sword called Sword of the Challenger that dropped from a Faydwer-era quest called A New Challenger . But they just added a second Sword of the Challenger as a reward for Impish Threats .
I checked the naming policy and couldn't find anything on what to do if two pieces of equipment had the same name. So, I've uploaded the examine window for the second Sword of the Challenger to File:Sword of the Challenger (15).jpg , and asking an admin where the article should go. McJeff (talk this way) / (stalk this way) 23:25, August 24, 2010 (UTC)
- I sorted it out =)
- The Sword of the Challenger moved Sword of the Challenger (30) and the new one is Sword of the Challenger (15)
- Sword of the Challenger is now a disambig page for the 2 swords and i moved the images to the new names too.

deflection is already part of the template, and you added another one, before that. if there are multiples of the same parameter in a template, the last one overrides all of the previous values. thus, if the last one is empty, it wont show up --

Another policy question
When I'm adding new items to the wiki, and the screenshot provided by LootDB doesn't match the one I took myself, what should I do? What's the eq2i policy, ignore it or upload a new screenshot? McJeff (talk this way) / (stalk this way) 00:42, October 21, 2010 (UTC)
- Not sure if there is a policy about it actually or not, but i can tell how we handle it =)
- The LootDB screenshot you see is from lootdb directly by using the itemlink, afaik Kodia asked LootDB if it's ok that we show there screenhots in that way (we don't copy there screenshots, we just link there screenshots).
- LootDB is not allways uptodate with the screenshots, and we aren't either. So if you see that the LootDB screenhot is outdated, just upload you own ingame screenshot of the item.
- Even LootDB is updodate with a screenshot you can upload your own ingame one.

Bug
There is a small bug that happens in IE8 in standard and compatibility mode.
I discovered it while editing the following link.
http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Ancient_Cyclops
It can be reproduced by going to edit mode on that page, then selecting preview. The text area that you input data into gets hard to enter data when you get close to the bottom of the viewable area on the screen. Using the outer scroll bar you can only go down so far then (I'm guessing a small error in the DHTML) causes the screen to bounce up and down, releasing the mouse button sends it back to the top.
The main thing that stands out about that page is the botton tool bar that appears on most other pages with the share, follow and my tools links is not there. It seems that the code that forces that bar to be at the bottom is the culprit here. It is not on the preview of this pm page either and previewing here exhibits the same behavior.
Also http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Gloves_of_Subtle_Strength you fixed that page I was trying to figure out what I was doing wrong if you could fill me in maybe I'll get it right next time.
LempoOnEverfrost 23:09, October 21, 2010 (UTC)
- First things first .. =)
-
To link to an article just use
[[Ancient Cyclops]]
for example and you get Ancient Cyclops . - I just tried with the in IE8 and with "New Wikia skin" without logging in, and seems some kind of fine .. apart from the fact that i couldn't see the preloads in that skin.
- Which skin are you useing?
- The templates are quite complex sometimes, i learned it by looking at other articles that use the same parameters.
-
About the blue stats like Ability Modifier or Crit Chance ... you can load the page with a helper under the summary line you see some other lines and one of them has the "BlueStats Helper". If you use that one you should see all the bluestats over your item. if you want to add such a blustat add a line to the article like
parameter = 5|
=>crit = 5|
in the preview you should be able see the 5% Crit Chance then. - About the classes: The biggest part of Equipment is normaly useable by the dtype/wytpe or slot of an item.
- for example cloth armor can be used by all classes, Chain armor only by scouts, warriors, Crusader, shaman and clerics and so on.
- So the best way is to get started with the slot dtype, wtype of en equipable item, then preview it and if the classes show up correctly you don't have to write down all the classes. If you need differnt classes as the default ones you need to ues some templates, an overview of them can be found at Template talk:EquipInformation#Help with Linking .
- I hope that exampled some of my changes.
-
oh and if you know that there is something missing in the article or when you think you used the template wrong .. just place
{{wikify}}
on top of the article and other editors will look into it. -

help with recent wikia changes
Hello i hope you can assist me, I have noticed the recent changes to wikia look and frankly i don't like them. They really mess with the in-game browser, the links are often hidden or out of place and i cannot change the settings to be the old wikia style. the biggest dissapointment however is all the waypoints that had the little copy box next to it that copy box is missing. I just want my old wikia back please help. Thank you, James jamescopeland146@yahoo.com 11:29, November 9, 2010 (UTC)
- The best thing is you use Monobook as skin (you can change it under preferences).
- If you use it ingame please login there und you can use monobook skin where many things should work way better.
- The good old skin got removed from wikia at 3.11.2010 for all wikis.

New editor -- uncertain about checking numbers
OK, I may have screwed some numbers up for the Guardian combat arts I've been punching in. I've been trying to clean up some of the templates and put in some of the missing ranks. But I'm pretty new to EQ2, and I'm not sure about the values I'm entering. As I'm swapping between my lvl 27 Guardian and my level 30 non-fighter Alchemist, I'm noticing a swing in the values I'm seeing for taunts, etc, on the same skill between the two characters. I've been going under the assumption that when I view a spell scroll on the broker, it would look the same for anyone. Evidently, the change in abilities (I'm guess the aggression skill?) impacts this, which probably means all the values I've been entering are invalid.
My big question: what *should* we be putting in for values on these skills? The values seen by a fully skilled up character (level 90 with max)? A character who has just leveled up to use it? I'm a bit at a loss with how to acquire the data to fill out the tables. Suggestions? Or should we just roll it back and lose the template changes?
Jonreece 05:14, November 30, 2010 (UTC) jonreece 11/30/'10
- The values should come from the class that uses that CA/Spell.
- If you are unsure about the values .. just leave em there with ?

Articles not sorting alphabetically anymore
Sorry to keep posting on your talk page, but this has been weird.
I was starting writing monster articles for Category:The Hole Monsters , and none of them were sorting alphabetically anymore - the wiki had gone back to sorting based on if they started with "a" and "an". I then tested the problem by moving an old article from Woodland bear to A woodland bear , and same thing, the wiki isn't sorting it right. I used to do a blank edit to fix it, but that has stopped working.
So what now? I sort of stopped doing monster articles because with this it was kind of making a mess, but... is there anything I can do to help fix or clean up? Again I'm still using Monobook instead of New Wikia Look in case that's responsible.
Oh, unrelated, but File:Legs_Icon_83_(Treasured).png has been marked for rename since December. McJeff (talk this way) / (stalk this way) 00:09, February 2, 2011 (UTC)
-
The sorting is handled by the following line
{{DEFAULTSORT:{{ucfirst:{{AAnThe|{{PAGENAME}}}}}}}}
-
The parser function
urlencode
changed at some point, and doesn't need the # prefix. - sorting is fixed for all articles, on the next bot run from wikia it will be visible. - Yeah i know i have some stuff to catch up since middle of december, but i gonna check the recent changes of the last weeks first then i sort the rest.

I'm using Firefox and Monobook layout and nowhere that I've seen a HideDiv section is the coding actually "hiding" the intended information anymore... - Thanks for looking into it; I just hope it can eventually get sorted out. All in all, this just seems to reinforce to me that Wikia is trying to hijack sites and their layouts. I mean, okay, fine, implement new functionality to your website, but... seriously? Forcing all of us to choke on what effectively is a less than 800x600 display space? The proper place for German-language articles would be on the German version of eq2i, at
de:Hauptseite
. You can add links to the German version from the English using the wiki code
[[de:GERMAN-PAGE-NAME]]
-- for example, I added[[de:Der Anfang vom Ende?]]
to The Beginning of the End? and now you'll see a link in the sidebar under "In other Languages" to German. - With that said, it won't help when it comes to links from in-game unless you modify your UI to point to de.eq2.wikia.com rather than eq2.wikia.com. -- lordebon 14:17, January 13, 2011 (UTC)
-
- Lordebon is right about that.
- The other reaon why we don't localize every article is the fact that it's kind of endless. Atm i think we would need every article in x languages (english, german, french, russian, ....) a direkt translation isn't possible before soe mixs the names sometimes up and so.
- feel free to add the translation to articles so you can find them when you search for them.
- (I will move/copy this page to my talkpage before i delete it.)

Since that seems to be a target for spammers lately, why not delete and protect the page? If you did something wrong with a article you edited, or someone else edited you can
undo
the changes.
- Go to the History of the article
- On the left col you pick the last good one and on the right either the top or a other one
- Press the grey buttom Compare selected revisions
- in the upper right corner you see Latest revision as of ........ (edit) (undo) press the undo (you ain't reverted the page yet)
- Look if the compare of old and new article is ok then save it.
- Templates are a way to generate generic stuff based on parameters, like Quests and equipment so it's easier to make changes for all articles that use the template.

Greetings!
Greetings! Long time eq2.wikia.com user, only recently started contributing heavily. Just want to thank you for all your help, before I get into this conundrum.
The new expansion has released more items similar to Bit of moldering cadaver flesh and Chunk of void metal , that are an item that can be utilized in a way to get another item (most notably, equipment). However, in this case, they actually give you the option to click on one and instantly receive it, instead of trading it in to a merchant or using it to craft with. If you haven't seen one, it sort of looks like examining a recipe book, but also has icons below for each of the different pieces of equipment you can choose from (which you can right-click and examine, or hover over, for more info).
My question is this.. how can we properly represent those on this site? I'd be happy to take a screenshot if that would help. In the mean time, I may start trying to enter in all the individual armor pieces (although there's a ton).
Thanks again! Donhead 05:20, February 25, 2011 (UTC)

- I think there are many items that only show the information like an examine window when you hover over it. I normaly write down that "popup" window to make the article.
-
Hmm, a screenshot would help for sure --
( Talk ) 10:08, February 25, 2011 (UTC)
-
- I've posted a screenshot, . These are somewhat nested, which makes it fun. If you examine a Prevalent Armor Piece , you then get a similar window, displaying a bunch of armor choices. Upon actually accepting a Prevalent Armor Piece , you are given the option to loot one of the pieces of armor specific to your class.
- These are being dropped by the chests after completing the Public Quests, which I just finished documenting (to the best of my ability). Which "Cache" you get seems to determine on your overall participation, although I'm not sure that's been confirmed. I've seen 5 different "Cache" drops, each with slightly different options. I have screenshots of all of them.
- Taking screenshots of the "Armor Piece" drops is slightly more difficult, as they're taller than my screen (which I didn't notice until after snapping them). I'll try to get better pictures next time I'm on.
- And just to clarify, I'm only showing the Examine window output. What you actually get is a "Loot" type window with the various options. I'll try to remember to take a screenshot of it in-action.
- If you haven't tried the Public Quests yet ( Echoes of the Ring War and Battle of Storm Gorge , I'd highly suggest trying them out. They scale to your group, so go solo, or take a few raids. Either way, it's a lot of fun. =)
- Donhead 08:54, February 26, 2011 (UTC)
- And just to clarify, the flow goes something like this: Complete Public Quest -> Click on chest -> Receive one of the "Cache" loot options -> Choose one of them, if armor piece selected -> Receive one of the armor piece loot options -> Receive actual equipable armor item.
- You can see the Triumphant Armor of the Divide (Armor Set) for an example of the armor pieces, I started adding those in yesterday. That's a whole new story, by the way.. the armor sets are made up of 15 different pieces which can be mixed/matched. I hope I did okay in putting together that Armor Set page.

- We have a parameter for things that create items or contains items (only real difference being the wording). You use it with Template:CItemList to create a list of icons (similar to in game) with a list of the names as well for easier browsing on the wiki. It should work for anything with under 10 items that it contains. I've upsed chunk of void metal using that template so you can see how it looks and have an example of the code.
- For things with more than 10 items inside (like the armor pieces you mention) we'll have to figure something else out. Maybe a template with just the icons and then we can add a section below and outside of the black box to list all the item names. Could you get a screenshot of one of the long armor boxes? I'm curious if they list all the items by name or just show the icons. -- lordebon 15:32, February 26, 2011 (UTC)

- My apologies for not getting back to you, weekends belong to my kids, and every moment I can sneak away to play (naps and after bed), I've been -playing- instead of -documenting-. =)
- I do appreciate you showing off Template:CItemList and chunk of void metal . That is exactly what I needed. I've gone ahead and started my first one, A Dominant Weapon . Just out of curiosity (I haven't gone looking yet), where do I get all the nice icons?
- To answer the question about quantity of boxes and whether it lists items as well as displays the icons, yes and yes, and the last one I saw had 27 individual items listed, along with their associated icons (so your current limit of 10 in the template isn't going to be enough). Of course, I failed to get a screenshot, so I'll try and do that when I have a chance, but I can tell you it does look exactly like that template, and there is as many as 27 items on one of them. I'm going to try and start documenting them all again this week.
- Now that they've fixed the Public Quests with this morning's patch, there's additional loot options that weren't available before, and a lot as been clarified thanks to a number of developer posts on the forums. I'm going to try and update the Battle of Storm Gorge (touched it a little tonight) and Echoes of the Ring War pages to reflect what is now being seen.
- And I'm glad to see someone picked up the Destiny of Velious Crafting Timeline . I had started to list out the quests as I was doing them, with the intention of going back and filling in a lot of the blanks, but it was either focus on the Public Quests and better gear, or do tradeskill stuff, and this time, Public Quests and gear won. So much to do, so little time!
- Have a great week, folks! Donhead 08:57, March 2, 2011 (UTC)
-
-
- I saw the item ingame allready so i updated the Template:CItemList and it should work for 30 items
- To get the icons you can look through Category:Icons -> Category:Equipment Icons to find a matching one, if you can't find one feel free to upload one

Collector (NPC)
Hey Chillispike, I saw that a change I had made to add a New Halas Collector to the Category Page for Collectors has been deleted. I know that I didn't have it quite right, but now because two individuals have deleted the category/categories, now the NPC doesn't show up. New Halas IS in the Frostfang Sea area and as such should have a category which allows users to be able to easily locate the NPCs located in New Halas. Could you please take another look at this issue and let me know what's the right way to resolve this? Thanks! -- Councellor ( talk ) 00:35, February 27, 2011 (UTC)
- New Halas is not in the frostfang area, it's in the zone called Frostfang See
- we make the categories per zone, since new halas is just a "area" in frostfang sea it doesn't have a own category.
- the same "happened" with the npc's of Kelethin .. those are all NPC's with Greater Faydark. same with the npcs of gorowyn.
- The NPC should be still there (i ain't deleted at least) but in a other Category, the best way normaly is use the NPC by zone and purpose and so on.
- i think there was a forum post about it where we made npc'S per city discussion but i'm not 100% sure atm.

- In an effort to help improve the functionality of a pretty good wiki, perhaps the bureaucrat/admins should consider revamping the NPC pages from a "zone" mentality to an "area" function. That way folks could find the NPCs they are seeking. I attempted to locate the specific NPC using your suggestion of "NPC by zone and purpose" and the New Halas NPCs don't show up. So while I appreciate your comments/suggestions, it's apparent that this issue needs another review. Try finding New Halas NPCs, it's impossible using NPC > Catagory:NPCs > NPCs by Zone and Purpose. I tried using NPC by Purpose and would need to click through every name on the page to find one that's in New Halas. This really seems beyond what most folks would be willing to go through using your wikia. Regardless of your decision, my comments are just constructive suggestions, not a complaint. -- Councellor ( talk ) 01:14, February 27, 2011 (UTC)

-
- I understand that it's not that easy allways to find the wanted information in every possible way if you don't know the right name, even we can create many redirects those should be useful too
- Try Category:NPC -> Category:NPC Types -> Category:Collector (NPC Type) then you will see 13 zones where colletors are (apart from Guild hall ones)
- The problem with the NPC's by POI is that we would need to add a like 1000 categories for it. at many pois you have some npc's
- Feel free to make suggetions how we could revamp it at Forum:City npcs vs zone npcs , but one of the goals is defo to keep NPC's by zone.

- One suggestion is that the location of the collector can be noted on the New Halas page. People looking for a collector in New Halas might be more likely to look there than in the collectors category. However as Chilli says things could get messy if we just start changing things in the middle so we try to plan it out and get consensus first. -- lordebon 02:12, February 27, 2011 (UTC)

- Also perhaps someone should place a notice on the main page of this wikia to state that changes should not be made without them being placed on a talk/discussion board first. This wikia doesn't seem to operate as most do (by user input) but instead by a few individuals (who seem to be unknown) and whom seem to have a plan in place that isn't/wouldn't be known by an average visitor to this wiki. I looked on the main page prior to adding to this wiki and unfortunately didn't find/nor was I aware of any discussion to this issue of categories. It has definitely made me decide not to provide any more inputs/changes to this wiki as I wouldn't want to "step on anyone's toes". Again, this comment isn't being made to upset anyone, just to mention an issue that others may be encountering as well. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Councellor ( talk • contribs )

We do operate by user input, but since we're an old wiki we also have a lot of things that have become somewhat set in their ways -- not that there is necessarily the best reason for doing things one way, it's simply the way it's been done in the past so we try to keep consistent. This perception is very common -- wikipedia deals with it and even has a section on it at this wikipedia page . I'm truly sorry if you've become discouraged, but on most large wikis you will see the same thing: a set of common practices (some of which might not be written down) will develop and older users will tend to edit things to keep in line with those while new users are likely to not know about them at all. There's not actually any toes being stepped on, we're just trying to keep things consistent so that it's accessible. A part of the problem is that when the administrators ask for folks input (on the main page or using the little notification thing at the top of the page) few if any people respond and thus it's very difficult to get a gauge on the community. Nevertheless there are ways of proposing changes -- the normal way here is to make a forum topic about it.
You make a good point there though, as there isn't really something that points folks to the forums for suggesting changes. Thats an area we can look to improve, maybe with an article on how to propose changes linked to on the main page. This is generally how changes happen -- someone comes up with an idea that doesn't fit against the way existing things work and it gets discussed and is either moved forward or not depending on consensus. If you'd like to stay and propose changes the wiki would certainly be better for it. We should move the discussion to a forum topic though, as we don't want to keep burning up Chilli's talk page while he's away. -- lordebon 21:34, March 2, 2011 (UTC)
- Great point Lordebon, this topic moved to Forums . Thanks! -- Councellor ( talk ) 23:19, March 4, 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for the Info Chillispike!
Thanks for providing the information regarding changes in spell names, it was very helpful. Some of the older advice posted in online forums didn't make sense without it. I looked in more than a few places before finding the GOOD information on your site. Thanks!
Where Have All My Icons Gone? (Long time passing...)
A bunch of icons I made for the new Public Quest gear have disappeared, for instance, see A Victorious Armor Piece (Storm Gorge) . I didn't keep the screenshots after I uploaded. Where did they go? Am I going to have to do them all again? -- Sigrdrifa 18:26, March 13, 2011 (UTC)
- Did they get redirected in a recent bot move? The Delete Log may help find this info. I'm not sure when Chilli will be able to answer, but that log may help with some initial forensics.-- Kodia 21:16, March 13, 2011 (UTC)

- Lordebon's bot run renamed the head icons to 4 digit numbers Head Icon 30 (Legendary).jpg => Head Icon 0030 (Legendary).jpg
- I checked some of the moved icon's and saw they get used .. then i deleted the old redirects (not the images)
- So all the icons are still but have a litte different name, my bot should be able to sort it .. somehow =)

- As Chilli said I was testing my bot to move some of the icons to higher numbering so that they'd show up in proper order in the categories but he went through and deleted all the redirects before I had a chance to update all the references (I got the ones categorized as head slot, it's the other instances that were a bit harder to track down). I have a list of all the old icon names to go through and verify that there's none missing still, I just haven't had the change to completely go through them all yet due to crunch time IRL that popped up. For whatever reason the wiki doesn't work too well with finding text strings like that, especially in the API that bots use. Sorry if I caused any concern, I wasn't expecting the redirects to get deleted that fast or to not be able to get back to finish up. -- lordebon 00:07, March 14, 2011 (UTC)

adornments
i redid the t9 adornments page in preparations of adding the blue, yellow, and red adorns in the near future. i think the way i have it currently will allow me add them and still have it reasonably coherent for looking for adornments by slot. i couldn't get the table to look exactly how i wanted, but will work in its current configuration.

My bad. :) But in that same vein, have we ever talked about those mobs that truly are only ever around for a festival?-- Kodia 23:32, March 30, 2011 (UTC)
- Not sure if or where we talked about, but we handle it allready with the Live event Template on the related articles. perfect for Annual and monthly things
- Live event stuff hardly get's added and removed from soe ... it get's actived and deactived on certain dates
- Intruduced/Patch is not allways the perfect thing for quests and mobs, a Quest get's added with a LU but you need a certain expantion to do it.
- a better over all way would be splitting between LU und Expansion, but that would take a lot of work and prepare (see the Bot "patch fix" at top)

question
hello!
Excuse me if i don't speak english very well. I have a question: how are you doing to put a picture in the window of explaining the item? I know loading the pic of my computer on wikia, but i just coult put it in the notes.
Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kargahal ( talk • contribs )
- Hello!
- The fastest way to show the examine window of an item is when the uploaded image has the same name like the article.
- For Example if you want to upload the Examine window of Spaulders of the Imprisoned the image should have the name File:Spaulders of the Imprisoned.jpg -> Best way to do it
-
The other way is you upload an Image and use the iname parameter, for example you upload
File:Spaulders of the imprisoned.jpg
(not imprisoned is in small letters) then you edit the article
Spaulders of the Imprisoned
and in the with iname you write
iname = Spaulders of the imprisoned.jpg|
-> sometimes you have to do it in this way -
If you wanna upload the image of the look when the item is equipped uploaded it "pagename + (Visible).jpg"
File:Spaulders of the Imprisoned (Visible).jpg
and link the image via iname2 =>
iname2 = Spaulders of the Imprisoned (Visible).jpg|
- If you more questions feel free to ask i hope the information is helpfull

DoV adorn slots
Hey Chilispike I'm having trouble with the new markup code for adornments. If I do it the old way
(slotcolor=red)
it works fine, but with the new ones, no matter what I put into the yellowslot and blueslot fields to try and set the value to none, it always comes back with three showing. I've tried 0, zero, none, -, blank, and removing the field entirely, but nothing worked. So, I'm leaving
Legatus' Blade
done wrong, but I'll stop with new articles until you tell me how to do it right again.

New Wikia feature - Chat
Hi! I'm Mark, from
Wikia's Content Team
. I'm excited to announce a brand-new Wikia feature - the
Chat
. The chat has been available for a while in beta, but it was recently added to
WikiaLabs
, meaning that any local sysop can activate the feature on their wiki! The chat is an excellent way to communicate with less experienced editors and new visitors to the wiki, without having to explain the process of editing entirely using talk pages. In addition to that, the chat also allows you to discuss news about the game easily without having to renew a page all the time waiting for the new messages bubble. Just to be clear, Wikia is not forcing this feature on any wiki, it's completely optional. However, we do recommend the feature as it'll only make editing easier, and attract more editors to the wiki. To activate the feature, visit
Special:WikiaLabs
and activate the chat. If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to
leave me a message on my talk page
! Cheers,
Mark

More icon issues
Yesterday night I was uploading icons and the uploader was acting funny - it would say "there is an issue with Wikia's servers", but the rest of the wiki was functioning fine and the images were uploading even though I was getting the server error message. Then once I got them all uploaded I noticed they weren't showing in Category:Shoulders Icons even though they were labeled correctly.
The complete list of icons that won't display in the Shoulders Icon list is
- File:Shoulders Icon 34 (Fabled).png
- File:Shoulders Icon 34 (Legendary).png
- File:Shoulders Icon 42 (Fabled).png
- File:Shoulders Icon 57 (Fabled).png
- File:Shoulders Icon 57 (Legendary).png
- File:Shoulders Icon 84 (Legendary).png
- File:Shoulders Icon 85 (Fabled).png
I tried uploading a new version of one of them to see if that fixed it, and it didn't. So now I've got to ask you. McJeff (talk this way) / (stalk this way) 22:07, July 14, 2011 (UTC)
- Hmm i just checked the icons and the category and i can see all of them, even the update at one of em .
- Sometimes it can take quite a while (longest was 2 days i think so far) till the servers updates the images, but that rarly happens
-
Maybe try to clear the cache in your browser or force a reload of the page. sometimes i check it with a other browser just to be sure --

Icon delete/move request
Hey boss, can you delete File:Belt Icon 03 (Fabled).png and move File:Belt Icon 03 (Fabled).PNG over top of it? I tried to replace the image with the all-lowercase file extension, but for some reason the wiki stretched the old image over the new one's frame instead of replacing it.
