Is there any way to search for Crit Chance (or other stats) equipment/adornments/other by class, level and amount of Crit? I'm trying to get my Necro up to, or over, the 500 required for ToV.

search hmm no sadly not but .. :)
when you finish the signature questline and got the mount from the last quest (gives 41% critchance) you should have like 520% or so
If you do all quests in vesspyr islands you should get an item for every slot, the armor it self doesn't have critchance at all just jewelery and Primary, secondary or ranged slot items will have it.
In the end it goes like this for the solo instances you need .. 535 - 550% crit chance or so you can't get there with just quested gear
fastest way: get Astral Crit Chance (Greater) adornments on as many pieces as possible to get to 560% Critchance maybe even 610~620 so you don't drop to far below when you swap out 1 piece of gear ;) in the end you just need 600%
after you finished the instances part and got the mount you will have 600% and that will do it for the group instances even in Temple of Veeshan or the new "fabled" Heroic Zones

On the wiki, not really. The problem is, to do a functional search (e.g., necks with crit >= 20) you need that parameter to be a column of its own in the database, but as a wiki all the article text is stored in one big field. There are some semantic wiki software out there that use a database-approach to articles but they're far less common (and a bit more difficult to use). You can use EQ2U to search by level and the like to get you a list of items with it, but I don't think they even have the ability to sort.
That said, the Census system is open to anyone, you can either use the example service id or request one of your own and then format a query to a particular slot, for crit chance at least whatever value, ordered by CC. For example, here's a query I built that shows up to 200 primary items, at L95, usable by a Warden, with at least 100 CC, sorted in decreasing order of CC:
  • http://census.soe.com/s:example/xml/get/eq2/item/?modifiers.critchance.value=>100&slot_list.name=Primary&typeinfo.classes.warden.level=95&c:show=modifiers.critchance.value,displayname&c:limit=200&c:sort=modifiers.critchance.value:-1
I've limited the output to just the name (displayname) and the crit chance value (the full data for each item would make the output rather long). I also chose to output it in XML since that's usually easily viewed by most browsers while the default output (json) usually needs a viewer plugin to use easily. The power of the API! -- lordebon ( talk ) 16:00, April 1, 2014 (UTC)
@Chillispike & Lordebon -> Wow! I just received more useful information in your two posts than I have in the last few weeks in the forums (and elsewhere). It's almost like this information is a closely guarded State secret.
@Lordebon -> I'm going to look into that as it seems to be a very powerful tool. I just need to learn how to wield it.
Thank you both for your insights! Paceyourself (sig) ( Talk ) 16:22, April 1, 2014 (UTC)
Happy to help :) -- ChillispikeSig ( Talk ) 16:49, April 1, 2014 (UTC)
Np. All the basics on how to use Census are on the website (I linkified it above, forgot the protocol earlier). It took a few mins of fiddling to get the query just right since I hadn't worked with some of the parameters right, but once you understand the basic language of building the query in the URL you can really dig amazingly deep. -- lordebon ( talk ) 17:51, April 1, 2014 (UTC)
