i'm beyond frustration, i'v spent a endless amount of hours not finding anything remotely what i'm looking for. i can't read and understand text well but i'v tried the help page which only have led me to more frustration.
as i don't understand text much and my skill of searching for answer is absent also my skill of sorting information is absent. i end up searching then reading all the irrelevant information to the point when my energy is completely burned out and still haven't find a straw of what i'm looking for. what should i do, should i stop trying to help whit adding? i can't ask here every time i have question, as i would think it's good to post here everso often.
the information i was looking for was how do i add a icon to this page http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Erollisi%27s_Charm first i need to find that icon then link it is to page. tried to search for "icon"s but frustration thing was that i only found spell icons as result, can't find any page whit item icons. there for i had to look for an item whit same symbol, found this http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Symbol_of_Devotion even tho the item have a blue background. is there any simpler way of finding symbols without having to look through dozens of pages whit other items? the method of finding an other page whit the same icon, category or uncommon formating is very unreliable tho as it often is very time consuming instead of looking for a library whit icons or a library whit formating specific to the eq2i look.
also this quest
http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Find_%27em_a_Find,_Catch_%27em_a_Catch!_%28Qeynos%29
i'v searched for hours looking to how to add a second followed by quest. is there any page i have missed whit good information whit questions of this kind? the general help pages is frustration as there is so much information that i'm not looking for and whit my problems that i can filter them out and realize that the information isn't what i'm looking for. looking for something more specific to how the eq2i pages look like and how to edit and add stuff. a page whit examples of page in the most basic look and example of that page whit much more added. i'm thinking for example of a quest page whit little information, no links no complicated sub steps etc and another page whit a quest page where much is filled in like bullet lists, notes, category's, item links, more then one followed by quest. and more uncommon features. suck page would make it easier as one could just copy parts out, as it is easy to see how.
now it is edited, and done but next time i have a similar formating question where should i look?

- Hi there. Let me see what I can do to help with some of the frustration. First of all, thankyou for all your hard work. We don't want you to be frustrated, but as volunteers ourselves, we understand that passion to edit. We have it ourselves. Second, EQ2i makes strong use of complex templates and it's not a surprise that this can be confusing. Even experienced Admins like me find them hideously complex. The templates do have the advantage of a *very* small editing base. You may see a lot of single-name, onesy-twosy, or anonymous edits, but the most frequent editors are a very small group of people. We use templates control how the information appears and takes advantage of the common information people most typically enter. This has the added advantage of avoiding literally tens of thousands of pages of rework when Sony makes a single tiny change to the way they present information in game. Small changes for them may mean HUGE changes for us.

Now, using the icon example you gave, the way you would enter information without risking invalidating the template is to find the line in the editable that related to the icon that appears on the page normally. On the Erollisi's Charm page, that line is labeled
"icon = | "
. Any page that contains an icon will typically contain a line similar to this in the template. If you go an upload an icon that you've captured, you could make it appear on this article's page by adding its name between the equals sign (=) and the bar (|). In fact, that's where you add *any* info between. It tells the database "use this info and display it here." In the case of an icon, it tells the database "go find an image file by this name and display it here." Now there's extra text in this line that you see between the
- As for searching on icons, that one is a little tougher because of the changes Wikia, our host, made to the way all information appears. We can't control much of this any more, so allow me to give you this link: Category:Icons . This category link takes you to all the icons at the wiki. Categories are the key here. Once you know the category an image resides in, you can find them much easier.
- Does this help? Let me know if there's more I can do to help out.-- Kodia 16:42, February 20, 2011 (UTC)

Note: to link articles it's easier if you use
[[article name]]
for example[[Find 'em a Find, Catch 'em a Catch! (Qeynos)]]
-> Find 'em a Find, Catch 'em a Catch! (Qeynos) - About the icons: there are like 1000 different icons out there and not all got uploaded to our side yet, if you find a icon that is missing feel free to upload it.
- I think i found the icon you where looking for, File:Symbols Icon 02 (Common).png . I went to Category:Icons -> Category:Equipment Icons -> Category:Symbols Icons and checked the icons there to find the matching one.
- I added the icon to Erollisi's Charm , if you have more question plz let us know =)
