Outfit Member Rules and Chain of Command
« Thread Started on 15 Jan, 2006, 21:06 »
These are the outfit rules and ALL outfit members must obey them, without exception.

1. Follow orders. By joining an outfit squad you agree to work with that squad and do as the Squad Leader tells you to. If you do not agree with the Squad Leader or what the squad is doing, leave the squad. However if you only ever join the squad when it's doing exactly what you want, expect to become unpopular very quickly.

2. Obey the Chain of Command. If someone that outranks you asks for the squad, give it to them. It doesn't matter how much you think you need the CEP, give it to them as soon as they ask for it (do not wait for a hack to finish, or for a base to be resecured). Also do NOT ignore tells from a higher ranking member as this will be considered breaking the rules and the chain of command.

The Chain of Command

Council Member
Squad Commander
Junior Squad Commander
Veteran
Commando
Soldier
Recruit

3. Further to the chain of command, do not contradict squad leaders orders. If you have a suggestion, send the SL a /tell. Use of teamspeak to make suggestions that contradict standing orders, or use of squad/platoon/outfit chat in-game will be regarded as insubordination. Directly contradicting orders may get you banned from teamspeak.

4. The squad leader must ALWAYS be on teamspeak, regardless of how many other players are also on at the time.

5. Recruits cannot lead squads and must hand the squad over to a higher ranking outfit member as soon as possible. Higher ranking members are obliged to take the squad from a recruit, or if the recruit is not responding to /tells to pull rank and have the squad disband and reform without the offending recruit.

6. If an outfit member starts a non-outfit squad they must not invite outfit members to it as this undermines the outfit platoon. It is the squad leader's duty to make sure that he has no outfit members in his squad and ignorance will not be taken as a valid excuse.

7. Follow Recall orders. If the SL issues a platoon recall through the CUD you MUST accept it and recall. Failure to do so will have you kicked from the squad as it is a blatant disregard of a direct order. In situations where fast action is required the 10-30 seconds it takes to recall are vital to resecure bases or support hacks.

8. If you go AFK, you must leave the squad. Otherwise the Squad Leader may be waiting for you to get in the galaxy, wasting valuable time, while you sit on the toilet and take a dump. If you are leading a squad and go AFK for a measurable amount of time (i.e. if people are waiting for your orders for a minute after a hack) you will incur two strikes and may receive a temporary demotion.

Breaking any of these rules or disobeying orders will result in you being report to The Council and you will be issued with a strike. Any outfit member with a strike will not be elligible for promotion to a higher rank. A single strike will be removed every 30 days that a player goes without incurring another strike. If a player incurs three strikes in a row, he will be removed from the outfit.
