What does this information mean?


Notes Edit

  • If you are under 36 and you are evil, then the good guard outside the quest giver will attack it is ^^^* level, so be prepared
  • The Dwarven Work Boots are required for the quest Reinforcing a Relic which is not a Heritage Quest.

Steps Edit

  1. Harvest 15 iron clusters (callous ore) and 15 severed maple in Antonica , The Commonlands or Darklight Wood and return to Hwal with them in your inventory. You must harvest the materials (see Note below) but if you accidentally delete them from your bags you can buy replacements at the broker and return to Hwal for the update. He will not remove all of the ore and wood, five each of the fifteen ore and wood will be left for you. You will also receive at least 36s 21c .
    • Note: You are required to harvest the items yourself; simply purchasing them from the broker will not work.
    • Note: If you are on "A Gathering Obsession, Part II", this quest will not update until you have the 10 items for that one.
  2. Collect three things:
  3. Return to Hwal , apparently a very thirsty dwarf.
  4. Obtain some beer from the The Blackburrow Brewery ( 21, -40, 61 ) /waypoint 21, -40, 61 and return to Hwal.
    • While there are three entrances to Blackburrow , the closest entrance to the Brewery is the "secret" entrance at ( -1111, -33, 1061 ) /waypoint -1111, -33, 1061 . Getting to this entrance requires a (short and breathable) underwater swim at a small cave ( -1023, -41, 1177 ) /waypoint -1023, -41, 1177 . Once inside Blackburrow, follow the tunnel and just as it opens up you'll see some brown kegs stacked 3 high. Select the top keg for the update.
  5. Take the brew back to Hwal Rucksif .
  6. Travel to Vhalen's Tower ( -1300, 39, 47 ) /waypoint -1300, 39, 47 Eq2map in Antonica to release Hwal's grandfather from the family curse. Click the manhole cover on the floor of the tower to enter a one-room instance called Garanel's Resting Place whose sole occupant is the ghost of Garanel Rucksif (a 25 ^^^ Heroic).
  7. Return to Hwal.
  8. Obtain two things from the The Thundering Steppes :
    • Leather from a mature antelope ( 74, -2, 1245 ) /waypoint 74, -2, 1245 Eq2map . Only mature antelopes will provide the update, and you may need to kill upwards of 10 before getting the quest update notice. An alternate location is at ( 184, 1, 1330 ) /waypoint 184, 1, 1330 . Another alternate location is at ( 406, 12, -509 ) /waypoint 406, 12, -509 . Basically, all the creatures place-hold for each other. Keep clearing them and the chances of a mature antelope spawning are greatly improved. You can alternate back and forth between the two areas in quick order.
    • A steel bar from a Firerock scout - ( 895, -1, 531 ) /waypoint 895, -1, 531 or ( 300, -1, 679 ) /waypoint 300, -1, 679 or ( 913, -1, 541 ) /waypoint 913, -0.99, 541 .
  9. Give the supplies to Minty Frostbeard in the Village of Thundermist ( 597, 2, -145 ) /waypoint 597.39, 1.92, -145.29 Eq2map .
  10. Return to Minty Frostbeard one Norrathian day later ( 72 minutes real-time ) to retrieve the boots. May require a zone or relog to update her quest status.
  11. Return to Hwal Rucksif , who will take the new boots and give you his old boots as a reward.
