I'm a technical writer who is obsessed with clarity.
My personal area of expertise has two effects on the edits you'll see me make.
- I have new players -including those who have never played a MMORPG- in mind when making edits.
- I always have non-native English speakers in mind.
The good news for my fellow wiki editors is that I like to do what other people consider boring: checking grammar and spelling. While I am professionally trained to wield the English language, I am also a human and will make some mistakes! In cases of the latter, please bear with me if I make small tweaks to edits.
What motivates me to spend hours writing and editing this wiki?
- I'm a tech writing nerd. I read the manuals that come with gadgets for fun. Seriously.
- I have played EQ2 since 2006 and have edited the EQ2 wiki for years without officially joining it. Now you can yell at me if I screw up formatting.
- I'm an expert at crafting, with a tradeskiller of each type at level 90. I tend to focus on that content first when new updates or quests are added to the game.
- I'm one of the three active leaders for a long-running guild that participates in varying degrees of roleplaying. Our guild also welcomes new players to EQ2 and I answer a myriad of questions.
- I'm a major housing and decorating fan and I think that information needs some tech writing nerd love.
